Steward Medical Group at Hawthorn Medical Associates is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated Referral Coordinator to assist in treatment of patients and provide quality in-office patient care.

The successful candidate will:
Be cross-trained within the department to provide assistance with existing referral processes, organizational support systems and administrative duties as assigned by the Director of the department.
Utilize assessment skills while developing and implementing internal referral processes.
Complete documentation within appropriate periods.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree or certification in Business preferred with three to five years’ experience in a health care delivery system. Referral Management experience with a delegated managed care environment preferred along with supervisory experience. Valid driver’s license as well as reliable automobile.
Requires the ability to work independently and establish an effective relationship with physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, office staff and other health care providers in physician’s offices, community agencies, hospitals and other health care facilities.
Requires autonomy in decision-making using sound judgement based on information, using established industry guidelines. Requires ability to identify risk-prone or problematic situations and when to seek department Manager’s assistance. Requires the ability to be well organized and develop structural bases.
Requires ability to remain organized with workflow in spite of frequent interruptions. Requires the ability to demonstrate flexibility in assignment and remain calm and courteous with all patients, family, hospital staff and co-workers. Requires ability to work and travel daily between office sites located within Hawthorn Medical Associates and the centralized location. Requires ability to use a computer keyboard and screen on a daily basis along with the use of a headset for telephonic communications.
