Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Business Development, the Business Development Project Manager will be responsible for financial analysis for new business ideas, growth initiatives, physician network growth and ad hoc projects. Financial analysis includes financial forecasts, cash flow projections, return on investment metrics and other profitability analyses. The Project Manager will work with department and hospital management, medical staff and corporate shared services in order to refine assumptions and incorporate benchmarks into pro forma projections as appropriate. He/she will assist the team with updating key information for initiatives such as cash flows, timelines, volumes and other reports for senior executives. He/she will become familiar with publicly available data sources and other market research tools to provide analytical support and enhance market intelligence capabilities.

  • Business plan for new provider or specialist
  • Service line feasibility
  • Outsourcing of a service line
  • Market research report
  • Patient / physician retention analysis

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial analysis for assigned projects and communicate results
  • Analyze market information and provide insight to hospital teams
  • Become familiar with market research tools, gather information and perform analyses
  • Utilize financial data to improve operational, organizational and/or provider performance
  • Identify opportunities to improve the team's analysis and reporting capabilities
  • Deliver quality analysis in a timely manner while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Provide secondary project management support for new initiatives
  • Provide secondary business development coverage of Steward's hospitals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent amount of education and experience
  • At least 2-3 years of finance, accounting or consulting experience
  • Healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience with modeling profitability analyses, cash flows and/or transactions
  • Understanding of accounting and three-statement models
  • Excellent interpersonal/communications skills
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks and deadline pressures
  • Expert level skill with Microsoft Office products (ie. Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
