Job Description


  • Under supervision of the Manager of Employee Health Services, coordinates, organizes and maintains paperwork for pre-placement evaluations; including lab tests, X-rays, referrals, etc.
  • Responsible for the correct completion of History and P.E. forms at time of exam.
  • Orders appropriate laboratory test results.
  • Conducts tests and immunizations as required. Provides phlebotomy services as needed.
  • Orders and maintains adequate levels of medical pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Records and completes body fluid exposure process, notifies Infection Control Department of all exposures.
  • Arranges follow-up testing and appropriate reporting of test results for staff.
  • Assists Nurse Practitioner or Physician with necessary clinical duties.
  • Assesses employees in need for assistance when the EHS Nurse Practitioner is absent.
  • Provides appropriate first aid triage to staff.
  • Assists in maintaining the Employee Health Service office by performing back-up support to the EHS Administrative Assistant as needed.
  • Screens laboratory and other test results and notifies Employee Health Service Director of abnormal results.
  • Arranges for periodic screening tests for employees and organizes results.
  • Maintains and files Employee Health and other medical records.


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge and understanding of patient confidentiality and informed consent.
  • Customer service focused.
  • Familiarity with interpreting physician orders, executing medical referrals, and medical billing concepts.


  1. Education: Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program.
  2. Experience: One to two years’ experience preferred.
  3. Software/Hardware: Previous experience with hospital and medical practice billing/scheduling/information systems preferred. Basic computer literacy required.
  4. Other: CPR Certification required.
