Clinical Nurse Practitioner
Steward Morton Hospital in Taunton MA is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our Comprehensive Psychiatry Program. This is a full-time position which involves direct patient care for patients admitted to Morton Hospital and in the outpatient psychiatry clinic. The ideal candidate will be a team player with strong verbal and written communication skills. The nurse practitioner will also work closely with the Chief of Psychiatry in helping grow the behavioral health services at Morton Hospital.
Morton Hospital offers a full range of behavioral health treatment services, including a 19-bed Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, a robust psychiatric consultative practice and electroconvulsive therapy. The geriatric psychiatry program at Morton Hospital is known for its high patient satisfaction and quality of care.
Morton Hospital is located in Taunton, MA, approximately 40 minutes south of Boston and 30 minutes east of Providence, with convenient access to major highways. Steward Medical Group is currently seeking an experienced full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our expanding psychiatry department at Morton Hospital in Taunton, MA. The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with SMG, hospital clinical and administrative leadership and professional organizations to facilitate the development of the psychiatry department and will participate in meetings as appropriate to assure effective communication. Candidate will provide outpatient and inpatient clinical evaluations and follow ups. Candidate will adhere to practice prescriptive guidelines and collaborate with supervising MD. Candidate will complete other tasks as requested by the supervising MD.
- Two to five years of NP experience in Psychiatry preferred
- Current Federal DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance registrations
- Current Massachusetts license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is required
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Experience with psychiatry pre-op clearances and eating disorders a plus
- Demonstrate clinical expertise for functioning in an independent role
- Excellent interpersonal relationships and communication skills for working with patients, families, and other staff
- Ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with physicians and other health care professionals and support staff
- Ability to be self-directed and demonstrate initiative in addressing responsibilities of the position
- Ability to complete forms and other paperwork appropriately in a timely manner
